Economic Development and Grant Writing Workshop

Last Friday I went to St. Louis for a workshop hosted by Senator Claire McCaskill. The morning sessions were presentations by various agency regarding various grant opportunities. Federal Agencies such as HUD, USDA, and the EPA, as well as Missouri DNR, DHSS and Economic Development. There were also presentations on small business resources and opportunities from the Small Business Administration and the US Department of Commerce. In the afternoon there was a training session for grant research and writing. One of the main things that I took away from the day was the number of free resources available to small businesses. Great opportunities for business planning and guidance through programs such as SCORE and the Small Business Development Centers. Check it out and give them a call.
