Columbia Farmers' Market Seeking Summer Intern

Summer Intern Opening:
May 1 to Oct. 31
Saturdays 6am -1pm and hours during the week
Possibly 3pm-6pm on Wednesdays

The intern would work from home, would need access to the internet, be at Market on Saturdays (this is a major requirement). Office supplies would be provided.

Every month the intern would have a special event to promote:
May - Beef
June - TBA
July - Cornfest
Aug. – Summerfest with Slow Food & the Daylily Society
Sept. - Honey, Localvore Challenge
Oct - Pork & Pumpkins

The intern would be encouraged to work with outside organizations to bring more diversity to the monthly events. A children's area related to the monthly special, would be part of it.The intern would be encouraged to develop a volunteer base & coordinate the volunteers especially to do the customer counts.Other duties may include: collecting donations from vendors for the band, helping vendors with physical limitations set up, checking for weights on tents.

This person may also set up 4 tents, arrange tables & chairs; put out at least 3 signs on roadways around the market. Other duties as assigned. Monetary compensation to be determined.
