Tour of Missouri Begins

Monday will mark the start of the 2008 Tour of Missouri Bike Race.

The world-class race through the Show-Me State kicks off in St. Joseph on September 8th and concludes in St. Louis on September 14th. The Tour of Missouri, which is entering its second year, is patterned after the Tour de France and is one of North America’s top three stage races. The week-long race will start in St. Joseph and route through Kansas City, Clinton, Springfield, Branson, Lebanon, Rolla, Jefferson City, St. James, Hermann, St. Charles, and St. Louis.

AgriMissouri is a sponsor of the event again this year and will be setting up a booth at each finish city in the Health Expo. AgriMissouri will be promoting agri-tourism, farmers’ markets and AgriMissouri members within the booth. The tour is a great way to bring exposure to Missouri’s more than 140 farmers’ markets, local food companies and extensive list of agri-tourism operations around the state.
