Clinton Offers Community Two Markets

Clinton, Missouri “Where the lake meets the trail” offers visitors and community members a historic downtown, easy access to Truman Lake and two great farmers’ markets that provide the best in local farm produce.

The first market that was established in Clinton is the Clinton Farmers’ Market. The market offers buyers coupons to be spent with the market.

The market is located on the Clinton Square and is open on Tuesdays from 2:00 pm to sell out and Saturdays from 7:00 am to sellout, each April through October. For more information about the Clinton Farmers’ Market contact Jennifer Shadwick at 660-885-4700.

The newly established Golden Valley Produce & Craft Market might be the new market in town, but has between 14-18 vendors that sell everything from cut flowers and fresh produce to eggs and crafts. The market also has a drawing each month for gift certificates to be used within the market. All produce from the Golden Valley market must be homegrown by the market vendors.

Golden Valley Produce is located on the corner of 8th and Ohio Streets, next to Full Line Lumber Company and is open on Tuesdays from 2-6:00 pm and Saturdays from 7-noon, each May through October. For more information on the market please contact Jan Barrows at 660-890-1431.

I live in Clinton and we enjoy going to both markets. The one near Full Line has really grown in popularity. You have to get there early or you really miss out. It is always sad when the season is over and you have to go back to store bought.
